VD Gulf offers advice on optimising airline maintenace budgets 06/01/2017

VD Gulf was invited to share its expertise on ways for airlines to optimise their aircraft maintenance budgets by addressing delegates at Aviation Week’s annual ‘Airline Engineering and Maintenance’ conference in Abu Dhabi.

Addressing the conference, VD Gulf’s Director General, Mikhail Khoroshaev presented the company’s views on key factors in fleet maintenance strategy, areas of improvement in relation to spare parts supplies, and an analysis of the impact of oil prices on the lifespan of legacy aircraft. VD Gulf also offered recommendations to airlines on how to avoid unnecessary pitfalls in their rush to reduce maintenance costs.

Delegates also expressed great interest in VD Gulf’s comments on the requirements and challenges of working on end-of-lease aircraft maintenance and satisfying the diverse interests of lessors & lessees. This is an area where VD Gulf is able to use its considerable MRO knowledge and professionalism to act as a ‘mediator’ between parties with the goal of finding a viable compromise in negotiations between a lessor and a lessee.

The 2017 conference was attended by more than 150 participants, 90% of which were representatives of Middle East airlines, regional aviation authorities and OEMs.
