Volga-Dnepr donates to support Joseph F. Sutter Education Fund

Volga-Dnepr Group provided finance support to Joe Sutter Education Fund being under development at the University of Washington, USA.

“Establishment of the education fund is a tribute to achievements of Joe Sutter, an outstanding aircraft designer and the creator of the legendary B747 Jumbo jet with which design we have had long relations,” says Alexey Isaykin, President Volga-Dnepr Group .“Our airline, AirBridgeCargo has successfully operated various cargo versions of the B747 which allow us to maintain leading positions in the global scheduled airfreight market.”

Joe Sutter graduated from the University of Washington with a degree in aeronautical engineering. Upon graduation in 1943, Mr. Sutter participated in combat actions during World War II. After the War, he joined Boeing Corporation, and continues his employment now.

According to A. Isaykin, Joe Sutter Fund will support talented design engineer students at the University of Washington, and this support is an important part of global civil aviation’s development.
