08/27/2013

Volga-Dnepr Group has launched its 3rd international photographic competition for professional and amateur aviation photographers taking images of its An-124-100 ‘Ruslan’, IL-76TD-90VD and Boeing 747 fleet.

The contest is a celebration of three of the most iconic cargo aircraft in aviation history.

Aviation photographers can enter photographs into the contest of all-cargo aircraft operated by the Group’s charter company, Volga-Dnepr Airlines, and its scheduled cargo airline, AirBridgeCargo. Volga-Dnepr Airlines is the world’s largest transporter of outsize and heavyweight air cargo and AirBridgeCargo is the Russia's largest schedule cargo airline with international route network. The competition winners will receive prizes for the first, second and third places in each of the three aircraft categories. In addition, a special audience choice prize will be awarded based on the results of internet voting. The Grand Prix prize will be a backpack camera bag.

Starting from August 26th 2013, photo entries can be uploaded onto the official website for Volga-Dnepr Group’s International Aircraft Photo Contest 2013 at http://photo.volga-dnepr.com/ and visitors to the site can help to choose the winners by voting for their favourite images of the An-124, IL-76 and Boeing 747 freighters. The closing date for entries and votes is October 15th 2013.

Volga-Dnepr Group organised its first photographic contest in 2010 as part of celebrations to mark its 20th anniversary and attracted 384 photo entries from 140 professional and amateur photographers from 26 countries. The contest’s website received over 8,000 visitors from 115 countries. In 2012, to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Antonov 124’s first flight, Volga-Dnepr launched its second competition and received entries from more than 200 photographers in 30 countries.
