General Director, AirBridgeCargo

Gennady Alexandrovich Pivovarov is the General Director of AirBridgeCargo Airlines Mr. G. Pivovarov was born on December 27, 1961. In 1985 he graduated from Kharkov Higher Military Aviation School in 1985 as Mechanical Engineer. Later in 2001 the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation awarded him an Air Transport Flight Safety Expert’s Certificate, in 2003 he received training at the Professional Development Centre for Russia Air Transport Personnel.

From 1985 to 2000 he served in Russia’s military transport aviation and retired from military service as Division Deputy Commander, Aircraft Maintenance in the rank of lieutenant colonel.

In 2000 Mr. G. Pivovarov joined Volga-Dnepr Airlines to take the position of Aircraft Maintenance Group Manager of the VDA Maintenance Service. In 2001 he was appointed Deputy Maintenance Director and in 2003 First Deputy General Director. In 2005 Mr. Pivovarov took the Volga-Dnepr Airlines General Director’s office. Since 2007 he is Senior Vice President of Volga-Dnepr Group, Scheduled Operations and the General Director of AirBridgeCargo Airlines.

Mr. G. Pivovarov was closely involved in Volga-Dnepr’s activities associated with the development of An-124-100 aircraft modifications; this type aircraft were furnished with automatic braking system, new navigation equipment ABRIS and traffic collision avoidance system (TCAS).
