Managing company Volga-Dnepr-Moscow

Established in 2001, the Managing company's function is to co-ordinate activities between all businesses of the Group, including:
- Planning and controlling the business development strategy for the Group
- Implementing unified management standards
- Consolidating and effectively using each company's intellectual and financial resources
- Controlling the financial and operational activities of the companies and ensuring the economic security of the Group

The Managing Company is at the core of the Group's activity and is responsible for overseeing the coordination of all the companies, and their compliance with corporate policy.

Passenger airline

Volga-Dnepr Group established a passenger airline in 1996, to operate scheduled and charter flights transporting passengers, cargo and mail on daily flights between Moscow and Ulyanovsk, where the airline's head-quarters are located. The airline also operates routes to Nizhny Novgorod, Penza and Cheboksary. In the near future, the airline plans to expand its scheduled and charter services in these regions. During the summer, Volga-Dnepr operates scheduled flights from Moscow and Ulyanovsk to the Black Sea resorts.

Operating a fleet of six, upgraded Yakovlev Yak-40 aircraft, Volga-Dnepr's passenger airline is currently evaluating the replacement of the Yak-40 fleet with a medium-range aircraft.

Volga-Dnepr UK Ltd.

Volga-Dnepr's subsidiary, Volga-Dnepr UK Ltd., was established at London's Stansted Airport to co-ordinate the airline's activities in one of its most important markets, Europe.

The company's staff include experienced Russian and European professionals in every division, including commercial, flight operations, navigation, load planning and financial departments to ensure complete client satisfaction. Today, Volga-Dnepr UK is a major marketing and sales centre for Volga-Dnepr Group's AN-124-100 services.

Amsterdam is very important for ABC. We are building up our hubs in Europe and expanding our flight network to meet the demands of Russia’s growing economy. We want to build AirBridge Cargo as an airline that can stand on its own against any competition and continue to be the largest scheduled air carrier in Russia.

Volga-Dnepr-Unique Air Cargo Inc.

Volga-Dnepr's subsidiary, Volga-Dnepr-Unique Air Cargo, Inc., was established in December 2000 in Houston, Texas (USA), to manage the company's activities in the North and South American markets. These markets are two of the most important and currently generate approximately 30% of the airline's total international volume.

Volga-Dnepr Ireland, Ltd.

Volga-Dnepr Ireland, Ltd. was established in 1998 in Shannon (Ireland) to perform AN-124-100 aircraft maintenance. The base employs a team of highly professional specialists and is supplied with all the necessary equipment to carry out the full schedule of AN-124-100 maintenance work. In addition, Volga-Dnepr's technical specialists carry out repairs to aircraft parts and distribute spares to airports all over the world. In addition to providing maintenance and repair services, the team operate the highly specialised loading equipment needed for outsized cargo transportation.

Volga-Dnepr Gulf, Ltd.

Volga-Dnepr Gulf, Ltd. was established in Sharjah (UAE) in 1996. It has highly professional specialists and is equipped to perform the full cycle of Antonov AN-124-100, AN-12, AN-32, AN-26, Ilyushin IL-76 and Tupolev Tu-154 maintenance work. In addition to providing maintenance for Volga-Dnepr aircraft, the base offers third-party maintenance and repair services for Russian and foreign airlines working in this region.

Volga-Dnepr China

Volga-Dnepr China was launched at the end of 1994 in Beijing and provides support for the airline's scheduled, charter and transit flights, co-ordinating the Group's activities in South-East Asia and China. Volga-Dnepr Airlines has nominated air carrier rights to perform flights to China's main airports.

Volga-Dnepr-Leasing

Volga-Dnepr Leasing has been established to coordinate the IL-76 fleet modernisation. Renovation of IL-76TD-90VD aircraft will be completed with PS-90A-76 engines and modern avionics. The IL-76TD-90VD aircraft will be fully certificated and comply with all the International Civil Aviation Organization regulations.

NIK insurance company

NIK was established in 1995 to provide insurance for high-risk ventures. It is now one of the top 20 largest and fastest-growing companies in aviation insurance. The majority of risks are re-insured by American International Group (AIG), one of the world's largest insurance companies. Re-insurance is carried out by one of the major insurance broker of Lloyds, the UK-based Willis Company, one of the world's leading insurance brokers.

NIK offers a full range of insurance services for Russian airlines, including insurance of responsibility, aircraft and crews. The company has also developed non-aviation types of insurance. Volga-Dnepr Airlines is a major NIK client, insuring its fleet, estate, trucks and personnel.

Volga-Trucks Ground Transportation Company

Volga-Trucks began operating in 1994 to develop a ground transportation operation to support the airline's growing business needs, thus also offering Volga-Dnepr customers a wider range of logistical services. The company is a member of ASMAP, the Association of Road Transport Service Providers, and is a licensed bonded road transport service provider for the Russian Customs Service. It operates a fleet of 17 modern heavy goods vehicles, including 12 western-built trucks.

In 2003, Volga-Trucks transported almost 30,000 tonnes of cargo throughout the European part of Russia for a number of major international clients including Coca-Cola, Nestle, SladKo, Piter-line and Volzhanka.

International Educational Centre

Volga-Dnepr's 'International Education Centre' was established in 1994 to provide additional English language education at both the general and professional level for aviation professionals and other students. The centre has over 2000 graduates during the year.

In 2004, the Centre changed its status to become an Aviation Teaching Centre and was certified by the Certifying Body of the Civil Aviation Ministry of the Russian Federation for Civil Aircraft Operators.

According to the certificate, the Educational Centre offers an extra 82 programs of professional training and retraining on top of the original 10 language courses for aviation specialists working on all the Volga-Dnepr aircraft - AN-124-100 Ruslan, IL-76 and Boeing-747 freighters and Yak-40 passenger aircraft.
