OFFICIAL STATEMENT BY VOLGA-DNEPR AIRLINES REGARDING THE TRAGEDY IN BAMAKO, MALIOn 18-19 November, an AN-124-100 aircraft operated by Volga-Dnepr Airlines was carrying construction machinery from Oslo (Norway) to Bamako (Mali).
After completion of the transportation, 12 employees of the Airline were staying at the Radisson Blu Hotel to rest before their next flight. On 20 November at around 7 a.m. local time the hotel was attacked by armed militants of the al-Murabitoun terrorist group. Six Volga-Dnepr crew members were rescued during the rescue operation by Special Forces and they are now staying safe onboard the aircraft within the airport’s protected area.

Volga-Dnepr Delivers Türksat Satellite that Will Enhance Communications for Millions of People in Europe, Central Asia, the Middle East And AfricaVolga-Dnepr Airlines’ expertise in moving space satellites will help to bring improved broadcasting and communication services in Turkey, Europe, Central Asia, the Middle East and Africa after completing a round-trip moving the Türksat 4B satellite and its special transport container.
The airline carried the communications satellite to the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan onboard an An-124 freighter flight from Japan and was also assigned to return the cargo container.

Volga-Dnepr Delivers 7.5-Metre Cypress Trees to UzbekistanTwenty-eight 7.5 metre cypress trees have arrived in the Uzbekistan capital, Tashkent, onboard one of Volga-Dnepr Airlines’ IL-76TD-90VD freighters.
The trees were flown in from Brno in the Czech Republic for a landscape reconstruction project in Tashkent as part of the city’s preparations to host the 2016 Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit.
