Honorable Mission Conferred Upon Volga-Dnepr on the National Flag Day 08/26/2015

Volga-Dnepr representatives took part in celebration events held in Ulyanovsk, the city where the Group was founded, and devoted to Russia’s National Flag Day.

On 22 August – the day of the 25th anniversary of Volga-Dnepr Airlines, the company was given the honor to participate in a Russian flag raising ceremony at the city’s major commemorative square that has developed into a focal point for political and community gatherings. Three company employees, namely safety inspector Yuri Malevinsky, AN-124-100 instructor pilot Vladimir Kozlov, and Flight Operations Control Center deputy manager Mikhail Malakhaev, accomplished the honorable mission of accompanying the national flag to its raising point near the Memorial Complex.

The formal part of celebrations continued with a dignified ceremony of presenting young residents of Ulyanovsk with Russian citizen passports and their taking the Oath to the Motherland before thousands of people.

“I think that holding such events is a good tradition to consolidate the respect and love to your country. I enjoyed seeing so many young people around. It was certainly pleasant that both the city and the region also did not forget to recognize the milestone our company celebrates this year,” commented Mikhail Malakhaev.

The flag raising ceremony became a centerpiece of over 400 events organized in the region to commemorate the National Flag Day.
