Volga-Dnepr Group took part in the Third International Air Transport Forum (IATF 2014) at Ulyanovsk-Vostochny Airport (Ulyanovsk, Russia) on 14-16 August.

Volga-Dnepr organized a photographic exhibition entitled «Building Global Air Bridges» and highlighting routines and achievements of its multi-national team.

The Governor of the Ulyanovsk Region Sergei Morozov welcomed participants at the IATF 2014. Volga-Dnepr Airlines’ Executive President Alexander Sidorin took part in the opening ceremony.

Experts from Volga-Dnepr took part in the International Aviation Congress (IAC) and shared their experience in IL-76TD-90VD aircraft operation and maintenance.

Artem Aroutyunov, Deputy Technical Director and Head of Volga-Dnepr Design Bureau presented a concept of a new transport aircraft with payload capacity of 180 tons and elaborated on Volga-Dnepr’s vision of the future of aviation manufacturing.

Winners of the Group’s «Advanced Transport Aircraft of the XXI Century» international contest were announced at a special ceremony. The students of Moscow Aviation Institute Sergey Borovykh, Nikolay Turbin and Ilya Ageev won in the key category and were invited to join the Volga-Dnepr Design Bureau team.

The second prize in the contest went to a group of aviation enthusiasts from Germany. Their leader and the eldest participant of the contest Gerd-Dieter Manfred Schmidt (on photo) was a special guest at the IATF 2014.

A student of Stroganov Moscow State University of Arts and Industry Alexey Komarov received a special prize for his concept of a future airlifter. The aircraft model and promo video attracted attention of many visitors.

The contest winners received a special tour around the world’s biggest serial transport aircraft AN-124 ‘Ruslan’ of Volga-Dnepr Airlines, which was on static display throughout the IATF 2014.

Volga-Dnepr’s Vice President for Organizational Development Dmitry Obsharov spoke on prospects of the air cargo industry both in Russia and on global scale.

Experts from Volga-Dnepr hosted a special panel discussion on «Corporate Values Management as a Way for Personnel Attraction, Retention and Development».

The AN-12 freighter of Atran Airlines, a specialist carrier that became part of Volga-Dnepr Group in 2011, waiting to be pulled for a world record in vehicle pulling.

The strongest man of Russia Vyacheslav Maksyuta pulled the 50-ton AN-12 aircraft to set a new record.

The unique AN-124-100 heavy transporter stole the show at the IATF 2014 which coincided with the Russian Air Fleet Day. The legendary ‘Ruslan’ wins love of the ever-growing number of people each year.
