Darwin Airline Awards Maintenance Contract to Volga-Dnepr Technics in Germany

Volga-Dnepr Technics (VDT) in Germany has entered into a contract with Swiss air carrier Darwin Airline for aircraft technical assistance and maintenance support at Leipzig/Halle Airport.

The contract provides for the use of Volga-Dnepr Technics’ hangar facilities and equipment by Darwin Airline MRO to carry out maintenance checks on the SAAB 2000s aircraft operated by the airline as well as the provision of supporting personnel from VDT GmbH.

The agreement also includes a provision for Volga-Dnepr Technics to respond in any AOG (Aircraft on Ground) situations if it is compatible with VDT GmbH certification approvals. In winter time the aircraft will be services in the hangar and Volga-Dnepr Technics is also leasing office and warehouse areas to Darwin Airline.

Volga-Dnepr Technics GmbH is a maintenance and repair provider for Western type aircraft certified under EASA Part −145 No DE.145.0468. The certificate is supplemented with a C14 Rating that allows for maintenance and repair of wheels and brakes of Boeing 747-200/300/400/8 aircraft types. VDT also provides maintenance services for Boeing 747-200/300/400/8, and Boeing 737 CL. The main operational facility of VDT GmbH is located at Leipzig/Halle Airport (LEJ) where the company has an 8,500 square metre hangar facility. The Company also operates a line maintenance station at Frankfurt am Main Airport (FRA).
