Volga-Dnepr Airlines, market leader in the world's superheavy and outsize air cargo sector, has been admitted as a full member in the International Air Transport Association (IATA). Volga-Dnepr is now able to participate as a full member in all IATA programmes and can enjoy all advantages.
As is normal procedure for new IATA members, Volga-Dnepr Airlines will undergo checks of operational quality standards in the near future. "I am really happy to congratulate Volga-Dnepr on such a momentous event and I'm sure that the airline will take a worthy place among IATA members" said Kevin Dobby, IATA senior vice-president.
"Volga-Dnepr regards co-operation with international aviation organisations as extremely important. Our airline plans to continue taking part in all IATA programmes, as a full member now, it will definitely ensure further integration of the Russian aviation industry into the world's transport infrastructure" said Alexey Isaikin, Chairman of Volga-Dnepr Airlines.
Apart from full membership of IATA, Volga-Dnepr is registered in the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) and is a member of The International Air Cargo Association (TIACA), the international non-commercial organisation uniting participants in the air cargo business.
Under a strategic development plan Volga-Dnepr has turned today into an international group of companies with offices and subsidiaries all over the world, including Great Britain, USA and China. Volga-Dnepr is aimed at promoting outsize and superheavy air cargo transport on the international market as a unique product using the outstanding Antonov An-124-100 freighter. The airline leads in market share of international outsize air cargo. The company has nine An-124-100s, with a tenth on order, one Ilyushin Il-76 and 1,200 employees.
