10/26/2003

Moscow - Russia - August 2003 - Volga-Dnepr Group has begun operating flights on behalf of the UN from Dacca, Bangladesh to Uganda, Africa. Over the next month the airlines intends to complete 26 flights on behalf of the UN, from Dacca to Entebbe using their fleet of AN-124s.

The flights will consist of a range of cargoes including engineering equipment destined for the Ugandan capital.

Commented Dennis Gliznoutsa, the Russian airline's UK-based commercial manager: "Volga-Dnepr are proud to be able to support the UN in their relief effort. We recognise the importance of the UN missions and continue to dedicate a great deal of time and effort to the co-ordination and the UN operations and are pleased to have been associated with them for more than 12 years."

This flight once again highlights the relationship between Volga-Dnepr and the UN. Since 1994, the airline has been an official UN carrier and in 1995 the UN included Volga-Dnepr on its list of aviation service suppliers.
