This latest delivery on 10 April follows the arrival of the first and second B747-ERFs in the AirBridgeCargo fleet in November 2007 and February 2008. Boeing 747-400 is the most efficient aircraft in air cargo transportations that has no counterparts among air freighters.

AirBridgeCargo will use the new aircraft, under lease from AirCastle Advisor, on its existing routes from Asia to Russia and Europe The airline currently operates some 20 weekly flights from Beijing, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Nagoya and Tokyo. The airline connects Asian market with Russian cities of Moscow, St. Petersburg and Krasnoyarsk, and serves the major European hubs of Amsterdam, Luxembourg, and Frankfurt. Denis Ilyin, senior vice-president commerce and strategic development at AirBridgeCargo, said: "We are proud to be operating the Boeing 747-400ERF in our fleet because its capability is unrivalled by any other aircraft. The fact that this is the third of these advanced freighters to join the ABC fleet within six months reflects Volga-Dnepr Group's commitment to establishing AirBridgeCargo as one of the world's best and most reliable scheduled cargo airlines.

The delivery of the third Boeing 747-400ERF finalizes the first stage of fleet modernization that includes not only the delivery of new aircraft but also phasing out of two the oldest Boeing 747-200 aircraft. Our customers can see we are growing, investing in our future and expanding our network. I would like to mention that the second stage of fleet modernization is near at hand, we are to take delivery of the first Boeing 747-8F of five aircraft ordered in the beginning of 2010.”
