Volga-Dnepr Participated in “Sea Launch”

On 5 June 2008, a Volga-Dnepr aircraft delivered an upper stage engine from Moscow (Russia) to Long Beach (USA). The rocket will take a space vehicle from sea launch platform to orbit.

The 20-ton cargo was brought to its destination by AN-124-100 Ruslan. The operation was ordered by Volga-Dnepr’s partner RSC Energia for SEA LAUNCH COMPANY, L.L.C. (operator of the Sea Launch Project”) specializing in commercial launching of satellites from a mobile sea-based launch site located in the Pacific Ocean.

The mission was successful and the customer thanked all personnel involved in this flight for their highly professional and efficient work.
