600-tonnes airlift

04/24/2009

Volga-Dnepr Group successfully completed a programme of flights for Skylink Aviation, carrying communications equipment to N'Djamena, Republic of Chad. Approximately 600 tonnes of cargo were delivered to the African continent.

The transportation programme commenced in January this year and Boeing 747 capacities were used to operate six flights to N'Djamena, four from Toronto and two from Amsterdam. Notably, this provided additional charter revenue for AirBridgeCargo in the current downturn in the scheduled cargo market.

For this programme, ABC engineering in coordination with Skylink Aviation developed a loading technique allowing utilization of the available cargo cabin space to maximum extent.

The close interaction of AirBridgeCargo with Volga-Dnepr Airlines made possible to perfect the flight operation scheme and minimize costs. As a result of joint efforts, the project of Skylink Aviation on delivery of equipment to Chad was accomplished safely and as scheduled. The customer expressed its thanks to all of ABC/Volga-Dnepr teams involved for professional, well-orchestrated and reliable work.
