An-124 General Designer’s 75th Anniversary

An outstanding Russian aircraft designer, Technical Director of Volga-Dnepr Group of Companies, Academic Victor Tolmachev celebrates his 75th birthday on August 11th, 2009.

Victor Tolmachev was born in Russian city of Kursk. In 1959 he graduated with distinctions from Kharkov Aviation Institute and started his professional career with Antonov Aviation Design Bureau in Kiev (now Antonov ASTC) where he participated in design work on most “An” series aircraft. In 1985 he was appointed to position of General Designer for An-124 and An-225. From 1991 to present he works at Volga-Dnepr Group as Technical Director.
