Volga-Dnepr Airlines Is Only Russian Airline Ranked in Top 25 of Air Cargo Excellence Awards, Voted for by Shippers and Forwarders

03/12/2010

Volga-Dnepr Airlines has been presented with an Air Cargo Award of Excellence (ACE) following the latest annual survey of international shippers and freight forwarders conducted by Air Cargo World magazine.

Volga-Dnepr was the only Russian airline in the top 25 ranking of the world’s top carriers.

The ACE Survey is designed to provide quantified measurements of performance of airlines as determined by their customers. The award was presented to Dennis Gliznoutsa, Executive Sales Vice-President for Volga-Dnepr Airlines at a special event during the IATA World Cargo Symposium in Vancouver, Canada, by Steve Prince, Publisher of Air Cargo World.

Now in its sixth year, the ACE survey asks shippers and forwarders to rate airlines they have done business with in the past 12 months on a scale of 1 to 5 in four key areas:

  • Customer Service (claims handled with expedience, problems solved in a prompt and courteous manner, professional and knowledgeable sales staff)
  • Performance (fulfills promises and contractual agreements, dependable, accomplishes scheduled transit times)
  • Value (competitive rates that are commensurate with the required service level, value added programs)
  • Information Technology (tracking and tracing of shipments, internet, electronic commerce capabilities)

The ratings for each of these disciplines are averaged and that average is indexed to the value of 100. Airlines achieving an overall rating of 101 and higher are therefore performing at a level higher than the industry average and are honored with the Air Cargo Award of Excellence.

“The Air Cargo Excellence Awards ceremony gives us a great opportunity to honor the airlines and airports that strive to meet excellence and to exceed their past performances. The success of this inaugural event proves the importance and credibility of the Air Cargo Excellent survey, which has become an important benchmark of airline and airport performance,” said Steve Prince, Publisher of Air Cargo World.

Dennis Gliznoutsa added: “We are proud to be the only Russian airline in the top 25 carriers in this survey and to be in the same company as so many of the world’s top scheduled airlines. It is a strong endorsement of our service from the people that matter most; our customers. The ACE survey reflects the areas of greatest importance to customers and helps to identify both areas of excellence and areas for improvement. In this respect, it is a very important guide to the views of the international market.”
