Volga-Dnepr coordinates air logistics for Silk Way Rally 2011

For the third consecutive year, Volga-Dnepr Airlines has organised the air logistics requirements of competitors in the Silk Way Rally 2011, part of the Dakar Series of international motor race events.

Taking responsibility for general coordination of all flight operations in support of the rally, Volga-Dnepr will arrange all flight clearances and official authorisations necessary for the joint flight detachment for off-track flying. This includes the use of restricted/prohibited airspace and military airstrips along the rally's route. The company will also provide general dispatch, navigation and aeronautical information services for the rally's air operations which involves a fleet of seven airplanes and seven helicopters.

The rally organisers have come to rely on Volga-Dnepr’s expertise for comprehensive air movements covering the event. Volga-Dnepr has developed great expertise of participating in such projects as an accredited flight dispatch organisation. The company arranged and coordinated similar flight dispatch activities for the Masters Rally in 1997-1998 and Silk Way Rally in 2009 and 2010.
