SuperJet International (SJI) — a joint venture between Alenia Aeronautica, a Finmeccanica Company, and Sukhoi Holding — and Volga-Dnepr Technics, part of Russia’s Volga-Dnepr Group, have signed a Letter of Intent for the provision of maintenance services for the Sukhoi Superjet100 (SSJ100) aircraft.
The agreement was signed during the International Aviation and Space Salon MAKS 2011 in Zhukovsky, Moscow Region. This LoI confirms the partnership established between SJI and Volga-Dnepr Technics that with its certified aircraft maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) facility at Ulyanovsk Vostochny airport has joined the SJI’s MRO network of Authorized Service Centers to provide maintenance services to SSJ100 Operators. In Ulyanovsk, Volga-Dnepr Technics is establishing a state-of-the-art multi-functional MRO facility to meet current international operating standards also benefiting from its location within a Special Economic Port Zone.
The Sukhoi Superjet 100

The first SSJ100 was rolled out from SCAC’s final assembly shop at Komsomolsk-on-Amur on September 26th 2007. First flight was successfully accomplished on May 19th 2008.
The Sukhoi Superjet 100 cruises at a Maximum Operating Speed of Mach 0.81 and 40,000 feet. It takes off from a 1,731 meters runway in the basic range and 2,052 meters in the long range. The operating range for the basic version is 3,048 km and 4,578 km for the long range version.
The certification campaign was accomplished with four prototypes for flight testing and two prototypes for static and fatigue trials. The tests show that the aircraft meets all certification requirements.
In February 2011, the SSJ100 obtained the Type Certificate by the Russian Certification Authority IAC AR. The aircraft entered into revenue services with Armavia on April 21, 2011. The EASA Certification is expected to follow in 2011.
