Urgent Delivery of Power Plant Rotor to Ghana

Volga-Dnepr Airlines provided KOG Transport, an international project freight forwarder with comprehensive logistics service by delivering a rotor for thermal electric power plant from East Midlands, England to Accra, Ghana.

The rotor to be urgently delivered to Ghana posed quite a problem from technical point of view due to its weight (over 35 tons) and size (8 meter long). An ultralight cradle specifically designed and manufactured by Volga-Dnepr Airlines was used to successfully load the rotor into the cargo cabin of Ilyushin IL-76TD-90VD. The Customer was also provided with a complete package of engineering and logistics services: delivery of cargo to airport, terminal handling, security clearance, loading/unloading equipment.
