08/08/2012

Volga-Dnepr Group has launched an international competition for professional and amateur aviation photographers to help celebrate the 30th anniversary of the first flight of the iconic Antonov 124 ‘Ruslan’ aircraft.

As well as their images of Volga-Dnepr’s An-124 freighters, talented aviation photographers can also enter photographs into the contest of Volga-Dnepr Airlines’ Ilyushin IL-76TD aircraft and the Boeing 747 all-cargo planes operated by the Group’s scheduled cargo airline, AirBridgeCargo.

Photo entries can be uploaded now onto the official website of Volga-Dnepr Group’s International Aircraft Photo Contest 2012 at http://photo.volga-dnepr.com and visitors to the site can help to choose the winners by voting for their favourite images of the An-124, IL-76 and Boeing 747. The closing date for entries and votes is August 31st 2012.

The winners will receive prizes for the first, second and third place in each of the three categories. In addition, the audience choice prize will be awarded in each nomination category based on the results of internet voting. The Grand Prix prize will be a backpack camera bag.

In 2010, the Group organised a similar photographic competition to mark its 20th anniversary and attracted 384 photo entries from 140 professional and amateur photographers from 26 countries. Over 8,000 visitors went to the contest’s website from 115 countries.

Volga-Dnepr Group hopes the 2012 competition will unveil more unique images of the three aircraft that can be used to mark their great respective histories in the aviation industry.
