Volga-Dnepr Airlines has completed the latest in a series of flights delivering equipment needed for the APEC (Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation) Summit taking place in Vladivostok, Russia.

On September 1st, one of the airline’s IL-76TD-90VD freighters carried 16 tons of equipment from Moscow to Vladivostok, including scenery settings, electronic equipment and interior architecture. This flight was number four in a series of cargo operations performed by Volga-Dnepr Airlines for the APEC 2012 Summit, which commenced on September 2nd 2012.

In August, Volga-Dnepr Airlines operated a flight using one of its AN-124-100 freighters to deliver two Mangust patrol boats from Moscow to Vladivostok to support the large security operation at the Summit. This was followed by two more AN-124 operations carrying television equipment, lighting units, generators and special TV vehicles used for broadcasting of the Summit on Government Channel Russia. The total payload of both chartered flights exceeded 110 tons. In support of these flights, Volga-Dnepr also provided additional logistics services for its customer.

“We were able to use our expertise to meet all of the customer’s requirements and to ensure all goods were delivered safely and on-time to Vladivostok,” said Maxim Prokhorov from the airline’s Engineering and Logistics Center. “Clearly, such important operations and the preliminary arrangements for them demanded prompt attention, careful consideration and great responsibility from everyone involved,” he added.
