Fourth B747-400ERF joins ABC fleet


AIRBRIDGECargo Airlines (ABC), the dedicated scheduled freighter subsidiary in the Volga-Dnepr Group and Russia's largest international all-cargo carrier, has taken delivery of another B747-100ER (Extended Range) freighter

The new aircraft takes to tour the total number of 112-tonne capacity B747-400ERFs in the ABC fleet, in which the carrier also operates one B747-300 and two B747-200 freighters.

ABC said that the arrival ol the additional aircraft was part of its current strategy of fleet and network expansion. The statement added that this includes the further development of its air cargo hub operation at Moscow Sheremetyevo International airport as well as the provision of improved services for its customers*

In the first 10 months of 2009, ABC carried 124,835 tonnes of cargo, a 14 percent increase over the same period of 2008. Tatyana Arslanova, ABC executive senior vice president, strategy, marketing and sales, said: 'The fact we have taken this additional airplane reflects ABC's commitment to its consistent strategy, which includes unification and modernisation of its fleet, development of our mute network and building of long-term relationships with our customers. She added; The continued realisation of our plan has enabled AirBridgeCargo to achieve growth and increase the company's performance, even in such challenging economic circumstances as the industry has experienced in 2009."
